Vrede Academy was founded in 2015 by visionary Principal and Vice-principal Herman and Lisa Janse van Rensburg. They are also the founders of the highly successful False Bay High School which was opened on 16 January 1999 in order to provide the best quality education in the Helderberg (South Africa) rooted in a solid Christian ethos. False Bay High school was one of the first small class, dual medium private schools in the country. The school’s dedication to quality education and its Christian roots have undoubtedly made it one of the oldest and best small class, dual medium high schools in the Helderberg, if not the country.

Vrede (a division of False Bay High) was founded due to the growing concern for students with remedial needs in the Helderberg area. Vrede aims to build on the experience and success gained from its older sister school, False Bay High, in order to provide the best quality education for students with remedial needs. Classes are dual-medium (English and Afrikaans) and the school’s curriculum is in line with the prescriptions of the National Department of Basic Education in South Africa.

False Bay High School is registered with the Department of Education and accredited by UMALUSI’s Council of Quality Assurance.
